Liverpool were looking to return to winning ways in their first home game of the season following a disappointing defeat away to Manchester in their last game.
A strong squad was available for this fixture with a strong squad including a full bench ready and willing to do take the game to Deva. It turned out to be the perfect start for the boys in green who raced away into a commanding 10-2 lead after 15minutes. Unfortunately this was not to last with only a combined 8 goals being scored in the remaining 15, with passive play being the most called foul by the refs. At half time the score was 14 – 6 to Liverpool.
The second half was a much different affair, Deva no doubt smarting from the way the first went came racing out the blocks so much so that a time out was called by Liverpool after only two minutes of the half by Terry to remind the players that the game had not yet been won and a big effort was needed to see out the game. The game flowed back and forth for the remainder of the match with Deva coming within 3 goals of Liverpool at one point, however the boys stayed strong and ran out 30 – 24 winners.
A shout out to Jakub Roman who bagged a goal on his debut.
